Well @Logan I got nothing more than well needed exercise whilst patrolling their complex looking for the cat. Then the kids got home and out came the cat. It apparently was in it's favourite hiding spot and never left the house. Talk about feeling like a dope. And then I found out that the cat seen wandering about is indeed, practically a twin for this one. Also made a note of your name - Sooky.

I had bought them a large bottle of a good wine and some beer as an apology for losing their cat so gave those to them anyways to celebrate that the cat really wasn't lost!

When my Dad died I and my wife took on his small dog (a long haired mixture of Jack Russel and something else) and taking it back home we were very careful to make her feel at home. But within a week she (the dog) found a open door and immediately shot through it and vanished off into the streets. I wandered the town looking for the dog mortified that I had lost my Dad's dog and told every kid I could find that should they see/find the dog and put a £10 reward on her "tail". Despite my wanderings in the streets I couldn't find the dog and after two weeks I given up all hope of find her. Six weeks past and I had given up hope of finding the dog especially as that was the first time she had left the House and had been with us for just a week and had no clue of the area or it's scents. Anyway, during the 7th week I got up in the morning getting ready for work and was having breakfast when my wife came in with an expressionless face and said "You've got a visitor at the door" and so wondering who would be visiting me so early I went to the front door.....and found our dog sitting in front of it, looking bedraggled and wet, and wagging her tail:doggieshmooze:
I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was and looking at my Wife she had the biggest grin on her face. How did the dog, after 6 weeks, manage to find her way home!! I did find out later that she had the best nose in the business for flushing animals out of cover when on a walk with us but never harmed anything. Also we found we could safely let her off the leash as from then on she would never leave our side when walking in the country.

@wiseowl ..:thud:..I'm glad I've only just read your post because if I'd read it this morning I'd have been too jiggered to get on with my jobs. What a grand job you've done, tiring but very satisfying innit..:grphg:

Today was a day to start turfing out the lounge ready for redecorating..we've put it off for too long and the only way to make sure we got our finger out was to order the suite and other bits and bobs yesterday so now we have no choice but to get it done...
Took curtains and pelmets down (4 windows),emptied sideboards and cabinets ,cleared the kelt that seemed to have accumulated in every corner..(next house I get will be a round house where there are no corners I can shuv things in)...

Also wondered why one of my chooks wouldn't go into the coup the last 2 nights,I firstly assumed the auto door had gone out of kilter or atleast that is what I was hoping...but no I should have gone with my first suspicion..RED MITE...Soooo..just set too and steam cleaned the coup and treated with spray...if it aint one thing it's another isn't it...:rolleyespink:

In between all this popped to Mums and we put the world to rights about all this Brexit business ..
            So that was my day...

Life in the fast lane eh !..:heehee:

Went to see Lion King, we have the old DVD version, but the latest film is so cleverly created and of course the story is as lovely as ever.

Watching all the trailers before the film started has made us realise that there are soooooo many films we want to see, so won't have much time for anything else !!:roflol:

Cats is released at Christmas, lots of big names are in it. Judi Dench is in it, she is so amazing not just for her acting skills but for the ability to keep on performing in film after film at her grand age!!

Baked an Apple Pie and a loaf of bread, continued clearing the lounge ready for decorating...
But the most memorable thing of today was walking my dog this morning and seeing a Mum seeing her son off back to school...he was obviously starting 'big school' today..she was poised with her camera taking a photo of him on his way down the lane..I made sure I got out of shot .As he walked passed me he gave me a huge smile..bonny little lad and very smart in his blazer and shiney shoes.I could see Mums face starting to crumple which in turn so did mine..It was a touching sight. Her little lad was all grown up.
Then in total contrast further down the lane another young chap setting off for school, blazer screwed up under his arm ,dropped his satchel on the ground ,kicked it along whilst he put his blazer on and off he went.Aren't they funny...
Hope they had a good first day.

I make 6 x1lb puds, they're just for us 2 but i use them through the year. I had 2 go mouldy and found if I put sherry in them afterwards they keep better.
