I didn't realise that there was such a following of budgies until I went to a chicken show and they were at the same venue. I thought it was just Joey in his cage with trill, millet, a cuttlefish and a mirror / bell toy - how wrong I was !

They are really helpful. They will advise on which melting point wax to use, which wicks, give descriptions of the fragrances etc. And looking around other web sites, their prices are good.

Oh @wiseowl they are gorgeous!!! Rosie is too, how old is she?

I miss having budgies/ cockatiels...not so much the finches though as they seem hyper manic!!:heehee:
I think at some point I'll have some more. My brother has just got his first budgie ,a lovely silvery grey hen. Being disabled he hadn't really given it much thought before but she is just perfect for him and he adores her. She flies around his lounge and lands on his head.....such a character!!

I used to breed canaries and finches plus foreign birds. A chap advertised his collection canaries & budgies, so I went to see him. Sadly he'd lost interest in the hobby. Also I had just missed the canaries. Poor chap he was really down. I came away with some forty budgies some with eggs. He declined any money but I left a few quid on his table. Despite their move, all the eggs hatched. I know, having also kept racing pigeons that these can breed all the year round. Now these noisy budgies do the same. A neighbour reported me to the council once, saying that the birds singing and the chattering of the budgies disturbed her sleep close to midday. I believe the council were unsympathetic toward her.
From one nest I raised a violet. Advertising in Cage & Aviary Birds, I had many replies. That little bird should have been awarded top prize for travelling. To the experts, he wasn't to their standard. I gave him to the mother-in-law on the IOW. She loved him and taught him to talk. He lived to the age of twelve.

I haven't watched the series ,that was the first one I've seen. Not bad though but on the whole I find they get a bit ' samey' ( is that even a word!:heehee:). Have to say concentrating on Australia made it an interesting change this time.:blue thumb:

Oh definitely, I quite agree with you.

My only gripe is when he first did these yearly ( or so it seems) series the camera work had moved on in leaps and bounds to make his programs so uniquely breathtakingly stunning....even a 'kill' looked good!! But like everything in life the more you see/ have something on a regular basis the less you fully appreciate it. Maybe it's just me!!:heehee:
