Nathan asked "Who has said they are not participating, apart from Wildflower and yourself on the forum ?"

Others certainly expressed that intent openly on forum. The comments were polite yet they are no longer visible. 'nuff said

There are too many of you to name individually.
Let all pull together in the same direction

I agree too WOO, especially that this is a fantastic site and how it fills the hours
    - too many at times o/h says! [IMG]

But I am hoping to take part in the photocomp now that I am on Broadband
at last - although still having a few teething troubles.

It was wonderful to scroll through all the photos already entered without having
to wait about 20 or 30 mins for each to download.

Will now get the camera out ready for action :D

I would just like to say thanks to Dave W for clarifying things for me.
But I still think its over complicated and the same problems will occur over and over, especially when a new member joins and submits a photo to this comp.
Defining what you can enhance/alter, and what you cant, will always be a problem for people such as me who just play around with pictures and are not really "up" on the subject.
Having said that, I do not put those that have complained in the same "know nothing" category as myself.

    [IMG] Hi everyone,
I would like to take a moment here & say how sorry I am for the unrest that has been caused on the forum recently.

I was full of enthusiasm, taking over the photo competition & very excited about it.. I knew there could be problems, but felt we would be able to iron them out & appealed for ideas

Unfortunately, I was also very naive as well.. I tried to do too many things at once. I was not though prepared for the personal attacks that were made
In hind sight, I can see I acted hastily, for which I apologise.. My intent was never to cause problems
I would like to appeal to you all, to put the unrest of last few days behind us & get back to being a happy forum & enjoy the competitions

I see there are now some cracking entries in both competitions so come on everyoneââ?¬Â¦ Letââ?¬â?¢s have fun againââ?¬Â¦ [IMG]

Thanks too, everyone for your support over this,
    Marleyââ?¬Â¦ [IMG]

Well observed Pete [IMG] . It will all work out after a couple of months trial and error. Nothing in gardening is instant. It just needs a little nurturing ready for some cracking summer photography:D

Well done MF, you are doing a fine job, and I must say you have dealt with the last coupe of days with great restraint and dignity. You have all the BMs support, and we will be happy to provide as much help as you require in administrating these difficult and contentious parts of our beloved Gardeners Corner. [IMG] [IMG]

Pete, I think you should just enter photos and if in doubt post a query with the pics. No one at all will jump on you from a height if you've not got it right. And the more photos we all see the more fun we have and the more we learn.

Dave's Simplified Guide to the Rules (only a simpleton could produce these :D ) :

    The "Original" Competition.
Don't mess with the photo other than to crop out bits you don't like. Add a simple border if you want to.

    The "Creative Competition".
Take a photo and do what you like with it. You can take things out, but don't put any thing (i.e. image) in that wasn't there in the first place.

    Relax, participate and enjoy. [IMG]
