Which groups of people would that be then Nigel? What is worrying, is that Putin has said he is looking forward to working with President elect Trump.

        Hi Pete,

It's not what the people of the USA voted for, more people voted for Hillary Clinton. It's just their crooked way of deciding the results. For example if in one state the winner gets 6 " colleges " ( loosely translated as our constituencies ) and the loser wins 5 then the winner is awarded all 11. How corrupt is that ?

Your sounding like a sore loser Anthony.
Would you be saying the same if the vote had gone the other way?

Yes I would, because I believe that people should get what they vote for.

I would also put money on it that this is what Trump meant when he said if he didn't win he would contest the result

I agree, but we don't over here and I do tend to think the American elections have a better way of weeding out the candidates.

That said, proportional representation is the only true democratic way to vote, but its the establishment that make the rules.
Maybe now that the rules tend not to be favouring the establishment quite so well we might get some new ideas regarding voting from that quarter.

Well, I wasn't sure who would be voted in a POTUS but taking into account the turmoil globally in Poltics, with the UK leaving the EU, extreme nationalism gaining ground in France, Denmark, and more European countries, extremists in the Labour Party gaining control over their constituency voted in MP's, the surprise result in Colombia etc, I wasn't exactly shocked by the result.
I have to say that whether or not Clinton is regarded by Republican voters as a "Criminal" and their fixation over her alleged carelessness of e-mails, I would have thought that it was just as, if not more, criminal to avoid paying taxes, not paying the large number of contractors, small businesses the money owed to them while flying around in a Trump emblazoned Jet and living the best of everything even after being declared bankrupt 4 times. Neither candidate is/was of merit enough to run for the Presidency but it does show the desperate straits that the USA finds itself in at the moment....but it is indicative of the state of the World that has existed for some years and is now in, hopefully, the peak of the unrest.
Me?, I'm ordering 4 years supply of Popcorn, extra cushions for my arm chair, so that I can watch the chaos, shennanigans, boasts, lies and broken promises, the clashes with different countries and cultures

I wouldn't say it's corrupt, Anthony, but a Winner Takes All does distort a vote for vote outcome. It would make it fairer and harder for each candidate to reach the required number of votes required to be elected POTAS if they only took away the votes they'd actually won, but that ain't gonna happen!!!:dunno::nonofinger::heehee:

                        Believe it.
                        It has actually happened.
If it keeps the Dollar low they wont have any reason to put up the price of petrol.
                        Look on the bright side.

Its down to the USA to decide if they are a winner or not.

                          But Pete,

This was a form of proportional representation which is why it's wrong.

                          Please note I said " a form of "....

Well you will need to explain to me that then, because in my book proportional representation means one person one vote and every vote counts equally.
                            Anything else is not that.
