A spring days activity, making Daisey Capers.

    And Sun Dried Dandelion Coffee

Might need a final roast in the oven, but at least using the sun will cut down on electricity.

Remember those carrots a few weeks ago ?

Had the first picking of baby carrots(thinnings) already, lush.

Peas are starting to crop, had loads of lettuce & spinage out of this frame already, beetroot is coming on in there too.

Shineys Bean Clotches are proving invaluable, bringing on not only the French Beans, but early Mangetout, Chillies(had 2 already, hot, hot, hot:mute:)
      and Carrots.

Sorted out the fruit garden section a bit, and incorporated a new Watercress pond, as its spilling out of the greenhouse.

Elephant Garlic is now bigger than most of the Leeks:happydance:

Your stuff is coming on really well. I used to try that shiney cloche method on my runners but forgot all about it, thanks for the reminder, must go and set them up. Looks like you need a new shaft for your hammer though

Should have seen the state of the bloke that I broke the shaft on John.:mute:

Only joshing, will buy a new handle when the cheque clears, will oil the new one up rather than using cuprinol or similar.

Plant more Carrots every few weeks Jazmine, they will come up & you'll have succession:dbgrtmb:

My early ones outside were very slow to germinate, but the cloché ones are doing well.

Got 4 Cucumber plants now, an extinct variety that Atticus L sent me, cant stand cucumbers.:DOH:Tis the Devils vegetable, along with Avocados.:OUCH:

Cheers Penny  Is your place warming up at all yet ? Must be frustrating having a later season.

              Nearly forgot,

The Ken Hom special, the Woking Stick Cabbage, nestling with the newly divided Rhubarb. Just planted one of Atticuses Spanish Tree Cabbages next to it to keep it company. And installed an anti stupid pidgeon device.

Too cold & windy to be out there this eve so thought i'd post a quick update.

On the left is the Sea Beet and Sugar beet, right is Parsnips & Beetroot in the back ground (starting to bulb up:thumbsup:)
Tree Onions are bulbing up too
                [IMG]
Mangetout are cropping, will have the Spinage out tomorow as its all bolted, give the Pink Fir Apples a bit more room.
The Arran Pilots have overtaken the Estimas and are flowering, cutting flowerbuds off to see if that improves yield.

Back to wearing jackets here Penny, can't understand it, wind coming from the South West should be warm, this lot must have whipped up across Greenland before coming back down, brrr.

I've got a load of yard long beans I need to harden off, but if I put them out in this it'll stop em dead.

Small Salading Bed is coming on nicely

In the centre is a row of Atticus L's Sugar Beet, with Beetroot & Arran Pilots either side
                    [IMG]
The Mange Tout are fighting with the French Beans for control of the Poles.
Nearside are some yellow Italian ones, which are very spindly & slow to get away, farside are "Blau Hide" which are really vigorous & halfway up already.

And finally, another fight between the Pink Fir Apples, more Mange Tout & a Moneymaker tomato, which has set its first fruit.
