Ziggy - Thank you for reminding me of Out of Town. I remember laying on my front, in front of the fire when I was a little girl, watching that with my Dad.

I didn't even realise I'd forgotten it until I saw your link.

I miss TV where nothing much happened - the TV people moan about now - but where you learned SO much in just a few minutes viewing.
    FAB! :D[hr]

    I am watching the video.
I must say that "gardening" is your own art.
    I mean, you the english.
Every people have their own arts and skills.
The italians have pizza and maccaroni, the french have champagne and cheese, the swiss have chocolate...
You the english have, among other skills, the skill for gardening.
    Indeed:
what's the worldwide famous tennis tournment on grass ? Wimbledon.
I mean: in Britain, the major tennis tournment is on grass.
Then, many sports played on a grass pitch have been invented by the british: football, rugby, etc.
The monument of footbal is Wembley (I could also add Maracanà of Rio de Janeiro).
The monument of rugby is Twickenham.
Has also golf been invented in Britain ? To be honest, I don't know.
When I get asked what about London, I always reply: "London is its own parks. For sure. Among other things. Among other things, because London (that does not represents the Entire England but, sure enough, is part of it) is many, many, many other things (I think about the British Kingdom's at Buckingham Palace, all the offices, the changing of the guards, the double-decker red busses, the red phone boxes, the black taxi cabs, Sherlock Holmes, all the architecture styles like victorian, edwardian, georgian, all the traditions, the greenwich meridian - zero longitude - countless things, etc., etc., etc. I'm certainly forgetting other things).
Anyway, talking about gardening, "Chapeau" (as the french say) to the british.

      Cheers Ziggy.

What's your plan for staking them? I have a horrible cane wigwam, canes so thick I'm having to very carefully tie the stems on every so often.

I've only got o level french but doesn't that translate as "Not Good, or not any more" :what: Is this an omen ? :D

You think that's bad? My Mrs is a French Professor, lived in France for years, and I thought Ne Plus Ultra was Latin(!)

You were right Atticus, it is Latin. Means the highest point of achievement, or go no further. Its also a warning inscribed on The Pillars of Hurcules to sailors at Gibraltar.

Should have read, "Last petrol station before New York"
